First, the post office. I hate our branch post office in Baton Rouge. Well, probably any post office in Baton Rouge, but the one nearest the house is the one that I go to 95% of the time. No matter what day of the week or what time of day I go, the line is incredibly long. We made an offer on a house this week and I had to mail the earnest money certified mail, so I had to go to the post office. I figured that a Saturday morning wouldn’t be as bad as a weekday during lunch or afternoon. Wrong! The line was out the door. I stood in line for well over 30 minutes. As I finally got to the counter I saw a sign above the employees that said this:
Our Pledge to You:
We will try to service your postal needs in 5 minutes or less.
Baton Rouge Postal System (italics mine)
Try? What kind of customer service is this. Maybe we WILL service in 5 minutes or…., but try? That’s no pledge. Utterly meaningless and gives more and more credence to the notion of going postal.
As for international humiliation, Robert posted a picture of me with a mud mask a year ago. No biggie. Well, it had a creative commons license on it, so Hans in Switzerland has published it on an online Swiss article about facial masks. I’m still thinking of payback. Any ideas?
